Carol Tingley Awarded Jaeger Scholarship

Carol Tingley, currently in her second year of the Master in Career and Technical Education program, was awarded a Jaeger Scholarship for $500 in support of her graduate studies. The Jaeger Scholarship is awarded to outstanding students in the MA in CTE program at the University of South Florida and with potential for making a difference in the field.

Carol has an associate’s of science degree in nursing from Valencia Community College and a bachelor’s of science degree in nursing from Florida Southern College. Carol is an RN and has worked for 10 years as a Pediatric Nurse at Arnold Palmer hospital and as a Nursing Administrator working with children and families as well as staff. She currently teaches and serves in a leadership role at Apopka High School in their Medical Careers magnet program and the Orange County school district for the past 17 years.

Carol entered the MA in Career and Technical Education program at USF in 2010. Since her arrival, Carol has demonstrated her passion for CTE and is truly an emerging leader within the field. She aggressively continues to develop her knowledge, skills, and dispositions for the advancement of the field. Carol takes pride in her work, which is quite evident based on the quality of her work, and is now in the process of developing a portfolio of exemplary graduate-level products and experiences demonstrating her learning throughout the courses in the program. She does this while balancing full-time employment and family responsibilities.

About her professional aspirations, Carol would like to be a program specialist for her school district and we have not doubts that she will accomplish her goals and continue to positively transform each and every student and teacher she comes into contact. Kudos!
