Daniel Cox
Daniel Cox presented with Dr. Victor Hernandez at the 44th Annual Conference of the Florida Association for Career and Technical Education (FACTE), on August 5, 2010, in Clearwater, FL. Their presentation addressed global trends in workforce education and the implications for developing systems connecting education and industry partners in the context of the local economic realities.

Drawing from a summer study visit to Germany to learn about the dual model and implementation factors, a comparative analysis was offered relative to the experience in the United States. The important role of industry partners, development of occupational profiles, blended curriculum, and the apprenticeship component were highlighted during the presentation. Implications for practice in the United States were discussed by participants who pointed opportunities and limitations due to our social, cultural, political, and economic outlook shaped by our unique historical development.
